Hotel Áurea Casa Palacio Sagasta
Four-star boutique hotel in an 18th-century merchant palace at Calle Sagasta 1, Cádiz: 38 rooms, imperial staircase, watchtower mirador, courtyard and spa.
Choosing where to stay in Cádiz comes down to a simple geography: the historic walled peninsula (Intramuros) to the north or the three-kilometre Atlantic beach avenue (Extramuros) to the south.
Inside the walls, 18th-century Indies-trade mansions have been restored as intimate boutique hotels — among them Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres, Áurea Casa Palacio Sagasta, Hotel Argantonio, and Cathedral-front Hotel Olom. At the western tip of the Old Town, the contemporary Parador de Cádiz commands full ocean panoramas beside La Caleta. Outside the Puerta de Tierra walls in Extramuros, Hotel Cádiz Bahía, Hotel Playa Victoria, and Hotel Monte Puertatierra trade narrow lanes for direct beach access and easy underground parking.

For a first visit of 1 to 3 nights focused on monuments, tapas bars, and walkable plazas, stay inside the walled Old Town (Centro Histórico, El Pópulo, or La Caleta) at boutique addresses like Áurea Casa Palacio Sagasta, Hotel Casa de las Cuatro Torres, or Hotel Olom. For a summer beach holiday, easy underground parking, or wider family rooms, base yourself in Extramuros along Playa Victoria at Hotel Cádiz Bahía or Hotel Playa Victoria. The Parador de Cádiz bridges both worlds on the Atlantic tip of the Old Town.
Much of the historic centre lies inside a camera-enforced low-emission and pedestrian priority zone (Zona Bajas Emisiones / Superkasko). If you are arriving by rental car, either book an Extramuros hotel with an on-site garage or reserve a space in a perimeter car park (such as Parking Santa Bárbara, Canalejas, or Plaza de Sevilla) before entering narrow Old Town lanes. Read our Driving in Cádiz Guide and Parking in Cádiz Guide before you arrive.
The Parador de Cádiz has ocean-facing outdoor pools and a full hydrotherapy spa next to La Caleta; Hotel Olom has a rooftop plunge pool overlooking the Cádiz Cathedral dome; and Hotel Cádiz Bahía and Hotel Playa Victoria offer pool decks directly opposite the sand on the southern beach strip.
Cádiz sits on a narrow peninsula with a strictly limited number of hotel rooms. For the February Carnival (especially the first weekend) and August beach weeks, book 3 to 6 months ahead. Outside July–August and Carnival, 2 to 4 weeks is usually plenty.
