November is when Atlantic autumn settles over Cádiz. Daytime highs still reach nearly 20 °C and the sun shines for 187 hours across the month, but swimming gives way to long low-tide walks on La Caleta and Playa Victoria, hot bowls of berza gaditana in the old-town tabernas, and evening concerts inside the Gran Teatro Falla.
According to AEMET 1991–2020 climate normals for the Cádiz station (5973), November has a monthly mean temperature of 16.5 °C, an average daytime maximum of 19.6 °C, and an average overnight minimum of 13.4 °C. That represents a 3.8 °C drop from October's 23.4 °C high, while staying 2.7 °C warmer than December's 16.9 °C afternoon average.
By total volume, November is the wettest month of the year in Cádiz at 98 mm of precipitation. Even so, that rain is concentrated into an average of 7.2 days with at least 1 mm of rain, alongside 74% relative humidity, 1.7 thunderstorm days, 8.1 clear days, and 187 hours of sunshine. Around three out of four November days stay dry enough for coastal walks.

What to pack for November
Bring a waterproof windbreaker and closed shoes for Atlantic fronts, plus a light jumper for evenings when the temperature drops toward 13.4 °C. At midday in the sun, a shirt and light trousers are comfortable along the Cádiz seafront walk.
Flamenco Day and the Manuel de Falla Festival
As beach tourism winds down, Cádiz's municipal theatres and neighbourhood peñas take over the evening schedule. Two annual musical commemorations fall within a single week in mid-November.
Día Internacional del Flamenco (16 November)
Every 16 November, Cádiz celebrates International Flamenco Day to mark the anniversary of UNESCO declaring flamenco Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The Ayuntamiento and the local peñas coordinate a programme of recitals and talks centred on the Centro Municipal de Arte Flamenco La Merced in Barrio de Santa María, Casa Pemán, and three historic flamenco clubs: Peña Juanito Villar, Peña Enrique el Mellizo, and Peña La Perla de Cádiz. If you want to book a dedicated evening performance outside the municipal programme, see our flamenco show in Cádiz page.
Festival de Música Española de Cádiz & the 2026 Falla 150th Anniversary
In November 2026, the city marks the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla's birth with headline dates at the Gran Teatro Falla:
14 November 2026 (20:00):Requiem a D. Manuel de Falla, featuring flamenco singer David Palomar with orchestra for the 150th anniversary.
23 November 2026 (20:00): Piano recital by Javier Perianes performing works by Manuel de Falla (including Nocturno) on the exact 150th birthday.
25 and 26 November 2026 (17:00, 18:00, 19:00, and 20:00): Dramatised tours of the theatre titled La Esencia del Músico (created by Ida y Vuelta, limited to 40 visitors per pass).
“When the November rain clouds clear the bay, the music moves indoors to the red-brick Gran Teatro Falla and the flamenco peñas of Santa María.”

Winter monument hours and All Saints closures
All monuments in Cádiz run on their winter schedules throughout November, and the month begins with the national All Saints' Day holiday on 1 November.
Torre Tavira: Open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 on its October to April winter timetable (including 1 November), with last entry one hour before closing. Advance online booking is essential for the Camera Obscura sessions.
Roman Theatre of Cádiz: Open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30 and Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00 (1 October to 31 March schedule). Note the double holiday closure: the enclave is closed on both 1 and 2 November, as well as on the first Monday of every month.
Autumn food: berza gaditana and the sea urchin ban
Cooler November afternoons bring spoon dishes (platos de cuchara) back to the chalkboards around the Mercado Central de Abastos and Barrio de La Viña. The signature autumn pot is berza gaditana, traditionally eaten in two courses (dos vuelcos): first a deep soup plate of chickpeas, beans, vegetables, and rich broth, followed by the slow-cooked meats and sausages (the pringá) eaten with bread as a second course.
Sea urchin (erizo) and sea anemone fishery closure
Older travel guides state that Cádiz's sea urchin season reopens on 1 November, because Andalusian regulations historically set the closed season (veda) from 1 May to 31 October with a 45 mm minimum shell diameter. However, the Junta de Andalucía ordered a full closure of the fishery for the common sea urchin (Paracentrotus lividus) and sea anemone (Anemonia viridis) along the entire coast of Andalucía due to critical population levels. Read our erizos de mar guide for context, and order pescaíto frito or tortillitas de camarones instead.
Late-November Christmas lights switch-on
If you visit during the final days of the month, you catch the opening of the festive season without December holiday crowds. Cádiz inaugurates its extraordinary Christmas lighting at the end of November, with the lights illuminated daily from 18:00 until midnight from 30 November through 6 January around Plaza de San Juan de Dios and the old-town shopping lanes. See the Christmas in Cádiz event guide for the full winter programme.

Booking tip
Check All Saints closures before walking to the Roman Theatre
Junta de Andalucía archaeological enclaves close on both 1 and 2 November as well as the first Monday of the month. Save the Roman Theatre for midweek and use 1 November for Torre Tavira, which keeps its 10:00 to 18:00 winter timetable.
Best time
Target the 14 to 26 November window for flamenco and Falla concerts
Mid-to-late November concentrates the best indoor culture of the autumn: International Flamenco Day falls on 16 November across La Merced and the historic peñas, while the Gran Teatro Falla marks the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla’s birth around 23 November.
What to order
Order two-course berza gaditana instead of hunting for sea urchins
November is the classic month for berza gaditana served in two courses (first the chickpea and vegetable broth, then the pringá meats). Skip any menu promising local sea urchins or ortiguillas: the Junta de Andalucía has closed both fisheries along the entire Andalusian coast for stock recovery.
